Two birds, one stone – individual activism and global cooperation. Our presentation is focused around SDG 17, the sole milestone which builds a foundation for all the other UN goals and missions. Youth today don’t know how to engage in the SDGs and their actions often seem minor to them. Our goal is to shift that mentality and explore how creating partnerships and adding up “minor actions” actually creates meaningful and impactful change. We hope to leave youth with a sense of pride and achievement as they go about their days doing small but impactful actions.

As Bismark said “the main thing is to make history, not to write it”. By seeing this quote, I got inspired and am currently trying to be one of the world influencers and activists. As living in Uzbekistan, I had experienced diverse cultures and the concealed beautiful culture of each country. Currently, I am writing the novel called “Amir Temur and the Knowledge Vampire” which is a mystery-fantasy novel with the historical figure of Uzbekistan.
As a student in the flustering city of São Paulo, I see all around me areas in which the SDGs could be a constructive force in improving communities. In a city full of sub-cities and numerous divisions, I have sought to change the individual communities I engage with through small actions like promoting education in poverty-stricken areas and sanitizing local orphanages, improving communal health. However, I have now come to see how those small actions– although very impactful alone– are even stronger when combined into larger organizations– like well-intentioned NGOs– that amplify voices and generate robust networks for change. My international experiences and large family have shaped my interests and hobbies as I spend my free time tutoring and working with other students from around the world to impact.
I am Anastasia Larionova, a junior at the American School of Barcelona. As a young activist of the SDGs I find it crucial to partake in educational programs. I am very grateful for having joined the MUNI Global and OMUN families which have given me wonderful opportunities such as this summit. I hope to see you all at my team’s workshop!
