To achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11 for Sustainable Cities and Communities, as well as the other SDGs, we need more great leaders who think globally and act locally. In this workshop, I will explain how you can enhance your leadership skills to bring positive change to your community and create a ripple effect. Do not miss out on this exciting workshop with leadership philosophies, tips from influential leaders, and my own unique leadership story. You will know more about how you can successfully start and lead a student club to host activities and events that raise awareness and spark change.
I will also share how I led more than 35 people to organize activities and events as Head Girl, all while achieving high grades, participating in extracurricular activities, and applying to universities. Discover how I overcame the obstacles that I faced and learned from my experiences. If you are a Model United Nations delegate, MUN Chair, or MUN student conference organizer, you will also receive meaningful MUN-related insights from my workshop.
My name is Omayma Cherkaoui and I am eighteen years old. My interests include economics, history, philosophy, art, psychology, and writing. I have participated in around 10 Model United Nations Conferences, two of them as a Deputy-Head Chair. My MUN leadership experience includes being Vice-President and President of my school’s MUN Club. In year 11, I was honored to be given the mention of ‘Madam President’ by my school. At the end of year 12, I won first place in a Business Plan Competition. I created a business plan for a social enterprise business idea that specialized in social justice, community building, and human rights advocacy. Being elected as Team Captain and Head Girl was the highlight of my final year of high school.
Volunteering is my passion, and I strive to seek wisdom from my unique experiences to create positive change.
