Sustainability is not just environmentalism or based around the state of the environment. It also involves natural resources, social resources, and economic resources. Therefore, when thinking about sustainability, think about these two factors: (a) The ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level. (b) To be upheld without compromising the needs of future generations. Of course, learning about sustainability, climate change, and other important and profound topics can get overwhelming and dull. So, I hope to bring a youthful perspective to the conversation and add some value to what should be an enjoyable and insightful conversation. I entitled this workshop “Sustainable How” to share how our impact can be long-lasting, renewable, and viable for the world.

Eric Johnson
I earned my bachelor’s in Mass Communication from Rust College and am currently a graduate student studying Nonprofit Management at Columbia University. I’m the head organizer of The Everyday Innovation Lab, a social project that improves social entrepreneurship in rural communities. In addition, I served as President of the Rust College Student Government Association during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Eric learned that “There are two kinds of smart people: those who take simple things and make them sound complicated, and those who take complicated things and make them sound simple.”
