Hannah Herbst is a student and social innovator with a passion for learning, problem-solving, and helping others. She is also a patent-pending innovator for her work exploring the properties of shark skin for medical applications.
At age 14, she invented a small turbine that converts energy from ocean currents into electricity. Hannah has since been named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, won the title of America’s Top Young Scientist, and won Best in Category at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. Hannah has also given a TEDx talk in Austria, spoken at the White House Science Fair and the United Nations, and is a Florida State Champion in Track and Field. Hannah is now a senior at Florida Atlantic University studying Information Technology and Business Analytics and running Division One Track and Cross Country.
