With the growing long-overdue compassion occurring in our society today, there are numerous ideas being emplaced and action being taken. People worldwide are speaking out on issues that have been suppressed for generations, unsaid, and even unknown. Whether it is the #BlackLivesMatter movement, the fight against police brutality, or notions about the general approach to providing better conditions for minorities and women – society is again seeing a battle for equality and justice. With this in mind, our workshop aims to help the international community recognize the power that youth hold for change in our rapidly moving world. We want participants to be aware of youth’s antipathy and the lack of inspiration and growth due to our utilitarianism and neglective educative systems (especially traditional Asian curriculums), and methods to approach the situation.

Through this workshop, participants will develop communication skills and solution/analytical based thinking; in creating solutions to address these issues. Easily linked to our organization (Global Youth), our initiative could be replicated across the globe as our organization focuses on developing subordinate initiatives that dictate to the same purpose but nurture specific generations to help specific countries/areas (Generation Z; ex. “Manila Z” or “Busan Z“).

Hello! I am Abigail Cho, a junior studying at Taipei American School (Taipei, Taiwan), and I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to introduce a (cross-)generational initiative! I am an activist for youth empowerment and quality/equitable education, especially in Asia. I am deeply involved with forensics and MUN – I am also interested in entrepreneurship business and poetry! Ultimately, I am devoted to serving our community, with the labor and commitment it demands.
