The JBS MUN Impact and GEO team is back again! When we initiated our menstrual product drive at our school to fight period poverty, we soon found that we had only barely scratched the surface of the topic. With 500 million people worldwide affected, period poverty poses a threat to our communities and world. In this presentation, we will discuss the history of our drive, the issues surrounding global period poverty, and our efforts to combat them in our community. Our work impacts over half of the SDGs, and we want you to help. If you are interested in learning more about pink taxes, period poverty, and how you, too, can make a meaningful impact (even during a global pandemic) join us for 60 minutes!

Nathaniel Doty

Hi! I am Nathaniel Doty and I attend John Burroughs School in St. Louis, USA. As a leader of our school’s MUN Impact Club and a long-time MUNer, my principal passion is making a difference in my community and helping others get the most out of MUN. In my free time, I like to read, run, and enjoy the great outdoors. I look forward to meeting you!

Kate Smith

Hi everyone, I am Kate Smith, and I am currently in my last year of high school at John Burroughs School in St. Louis, Missouri. I am a leader of our Gender Equity Organization, a club that works to promote gender inclusivity and awareness of gender issues in our community. I previously presented about our annual Tampon Drive at the UN MUN Youth Summit in April 2019, and the MUN Impact Summit in July 2020.

Katherine Holekamp

Hello, my name is Katherine Holekamp! I am in my last year of high school at John Burroughs School in St. Louis, USA. As a leader of the MUN Impact Club and GEO, I strive to teach people about the SDGs and ways to support them in their own communities.
